Nonòzio was born from the long-standing collaboration between Barbara Frua and Pictalab, a partnership that has been developing for over twenty years across a wide range of living and design contexts. Here, for the first time, the two entities have chosen to create a shared space in the heart of Milan, occupying what was once a gallery and is now fully open to the city thanks to large street-facing windows.

Inside, Pictalab’s wall painting enters into dialogue with the objects and collection curated by Barbara Frua. The two-dimensional quality of painted surfaces merges with the three-dimensional presence of furnishings and objects, creating an immersive environment in which the room seems to truly lose its boundaries. The result is a small interior landscape made up of unexpected views, diverse materials, objects from different times and cultures, and scales that coexist in balance.

Nonòzio is at once a shop, a workshop, and a stage.

A space where lamps and chandeliers, rugs, painted and printed papers, wall decorations, ceramics, mirrors, furniture, and objects designed for one purpose—and sometimes reinvented for another—come together.

Above all, however, it is a place of relationships: between those who imagine and those who create, between designer, artisan, and visitor.

More than a place of simple buying and selling, Nonòzio aims to be a space of affection and discovery, where objects are not merely chosen but seem, in turn, to choose those who encounter them. Here, interior design takes shape as a living, intimate experience, built on the details that make a space truly welcoming.

At the heart of everything is the creative process, understood as an inner process. Every choice arises from the search for balance between forms, colors, and proportions, and from the desire to value craftsmanship, traditional techniques, and a timeless beauty reinterpreted with contemporary sensitivity.

Nonòzio is a space one enters to find something, but also to imagine. A place where an idea not yet fully defined can become a tangible object, and where an object can become part of a larger story: that of the spaces we inhabit, which in turn come to define who we are.

First and foremost, Nonòzio is a moment dedicated to oneself and to the places one inhabits.
